The Cennini Project. For the study of the reception of the 'Book of the Art' in the world

Italian version

THE CENNINI PROJECT
For the study of the reception of the 'Book of the Art' in the world

Written around the end of 1300, and published for the first time in 1821, the 'Book of the Art' by Cennino Cennini is one of the most famous works of Italian art literature.

The diffusion of the text and the influence it has exercised, in different historical periods and across geographical areas that are very far apart, are widely underestimated facts.

Since its birth 'Letteratura artistica' investigates the cross-cultural dimension of the reception of this work. Below, you can find displayed a list of posts dedicated to the 'Book of the Art’, starting from a check-list of all published editions and then with references to specific cultural aspects related to the translations in the individual countries.
